You’ll receive a direct yes or no. If not accepted, you get a detailed improvement report—no pressure, just support.

If accepted, we guide you through editing, formatting, cover design, and launch. You’re always in the loop—no surprises.

What’s the manuscript submission process?

You submit your contact information, then upload your manuscript through a private Google Drive link. Once received, your manuscript enters our review queue. You’ll receive confirmation when it’s received and a decision once review is complete.

What if my manuscript isn’t accepted?

If your manuscript isn’t accepted, you’ll be told why. In some cases, we offer a detailed improvement report outlining what would need to change for reconsideration. There is no obligation to proceed.

Are there any hidden costs?

No. Submission is free. Review is free. You only pay if your manuscript is accepted and you choose to move forward with publication services. All pricing is disclosed upfront.

How do you help new authors?

We guide you through every stage of the process—review, feedback, editing, design, and launch. You’re never left guessing what’s happening or what comes next.

You’ll receive clear communication, honest recommendations, and real human support alongside smart automation, so you can make informed decisions without pressure.

Do I keep the rights to my book?

Absolutely. You always own your work. Our contracts are clear and fair, designed to protect your creative rights and give you peace of mind.

How fast is the publishing process?

Review decisions are typically made within days. If accepted, production timelines vary by project, but most books move from acceptance to launch in weeks—not months.

What We Will Not Take

FloodGate Publishing is not a free-for-all.
We publish work we’re willing to stand behind. That means some content is a hard no.


We reserve the right to reject any manuscript based on content. If you don’t like that, this is not the publishing house for you.

❌ Content We Will Not Publish

1. Sexual content involving children
This includes any form of:

Child sexual abuse

Sexualized minors

“Age play” or coded equivalents

There are no exceptions.

2. Erotica involving rape or sexualized violence
We do not publish eroticized rape or sexual assault.

This applies regardless of:

Gender

Narrative framing

Claims of “artistic expression”

3. Excessive violence toward women
We do not publish material that fixates on or glorifies violence against women beyond what would reasonably appear in a rated-R film.

If the violence exists primarily for shock, fetish, or degradation, we’re not interested.

4. Hate speech with no purpose beyond hate
We do not publish material whose sole function is to:

Dehumanize groups

Promote harm or death

Encourage segregation or exclusion

Incite hostility without analytical, historical, or critical purpose

This includes rhetoric that:

Advocates violence against a group

Treats entire populations as subhuman

Frames harm as morally justified without critique

Clarifying what we mean by “hate speech”

Context matters.

We distinguish between:

Historical, analytical, or critical works, and

Content whose only goal is hostility or incitement

For example:

Historical or ideological texts examined for understanding, critique, or analysis are not automatically disqualified.

Content that explicitly promotes harm, death, or enforced segregation as a position we’re meant to endorse is not acceptable.

We evaluate intent, framing, and purpose — not just keywords.

Who decides?

We do.

FloodGate Publishing makes the final call on whether a manuscript crosses these lines.
That decision is based on our judgment, values, and responsibility as a publisher.

We do not negotiate content boundaries.
If we decline your work on these grounds, that decision is final.

Bottom line

We are not a vanity press

We are not obligated to publish everything

We will not hide behind vague standards

We will not publish content we believe causes harm without purpose

If your work falls outside these boundaries, we wish you the best elsewhere.
